Boxing Day!

In Britain, Boxing Day is usually celebrated on the following day after Christmas Day. Like Christmas Day, Boxing Day is a public holiday.
Boxing Day is the day when families get together. It is a day of watching sports and playing board games with the family.
Traditionally, Boxing Day is a day for fox hunting. Besides, the day is marked by the giving of Christmas boxes or gifts, to service workers.
Nowadays, some shops have broken from tradition and started opening on Boxing Day to start the New Year sales.

Handprint Turkeys

Paint child's palm and thumb brown and each finger a different color. When dry, paint the tip of the index finger red and put on thumbprint for the turkey's waddle. Use orange marker to make beak and feet and black marker for eyes. Add this poem beneath the turkey handprint:

This isn't just a turkey,
As anyone can see.
I made it with my little hand
Which is a part of me.
It comes with lots of love
Especially to say:
I hope you have a very
Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Remembrace Day

November is the time of the year when we wear a red poppy in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for us during wars.

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marks the signing of the Armistice, on 11th November 1918, to signal the end of World War One.

Remembrance Day is on 11 November. It is a special day set aside to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and other conflicts.

Remembrance Day is also known as Poppy Day, because it is traditional to wear an artificial poppy. They are sold by the Royal British Legion, a charity dedicated to helping war veterans.

World Book Day

The connection between 23 April and books was first made in 1923 by booksellers in Spain as a way to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes who died on that day. This became a part of the celebrations of the Saint George's Day (also 23 April) in Catalonia, where it has been traditional since the medieval era for men to give roses to their lovers and since 1925 for the woman to give a book in exchange.

In 1995, UNESCO decided that the World Book and Copyright Day would be celebrated on this date because of the Catalonian festival and because the date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare and the death of Miguel de Cervantes.

In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, World Book Day is held annually on the first Thursday in March.

We are the Champions.

"We Are the Champions" is a power ballad written by Freddie Mercury, recorded and performed by Queen for their 1977 album News of the World. One of their most famous and popular songs, it has since become an anthem for sporting victories including as official theme song for FIFA World Cup and has been often used or referenced in popular culture.

Spanish:

HE PAGADO MIS DEUDAS
UNA Y OTRA VEZ
HICE MI CONDENA
PERO NO PERPETRÉ NINGÚN CRIMEN
Y ERRORES MALOS
COMETÍ ALGUNOS
TUVE MI GRANITO DE ARENA
GOLPEADO EN MI CARA
PERO YA HE PASADO

Y NOSOTROS QUEREMOS SEGUIR SIN PARAR Y SIN PARAR

NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES - MIS AMIGOS
Y NOS MANTENDREMOS LUCHANDO
HASTA EL FINAL
NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES
NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES
NO HAY TIEMPO PARA LOS PERDEDORES
PORQUE NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES DEL MUNDO

YO HE TOMADO MIS REVERENCIAS
Y MIS LLAMAMIENTOS
ME HAS TRAÍDO FAMA Y FORTUNA
Y TODO LO QUE SIGUE
TE AGRADEZCO TODO
PERO NO HA SIDO UN LECHO DE ROSAS
NI UN CRUCERO DE PLACER
YO LO CONSIDERO UN DESAFÍO
LA RAZA HUMANA ENTERA
Y NO VOY A PERDER

Y NOSOTROS QUEREMOS SEGUIR SIN PARAR Y SIN PARAR

NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES - MIS AMIGOS
Y NOS MANTENDREMOS LUCHANDO
HASTA EL FINAL
NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES
NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES
NO HAY TIEMPO PARA LOS PERDEDORES
PORQUE NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES DEL MUNDO

NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES - MIS AMIGOS
Y NOS MANTENDREMOS LUCHANDO
HASTA EL FINAL
NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES
NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES
NO HAY TIEMPO PARA LOS PERDEDORES
PORQUE NOSOTROS SOMOS LOS CAMPEONES

Road Safety poem

TRAFFIC LIGHTS

Red light, red light, what do you say?

I say stop, and stop right away.

Yellow light, yellow light, what do you mean?

I mean wait till the lights turn green.

Green light, green light, what do you say?

I say cross, but please look each way.

Thank-you, thank-you: red, yellow, green.

Now we know what the traffic lights mean.

Easter poem:

Bunnies

Bunnies are brown
Bunnies are white
Bunnies are always
An Easter delight.

Bunnies are cuddly
Large as well as small.
But I like the chocolate ones
The sweetest of them all.

Hop, Hop, Hop
Hop, hop, hop,
Hop my bunny hop,
Hop along my little bunny
You look sweet and very funny

Look and see,
Where the eggs may be,
Here is one and here's another,
Here's a lovely one for mother.

Let us look and see,
Where the eggs may be.
Here, there, where are they
Let's find out on Easter Day

Some Things That Easter Brings
Easter duck and Easter chick,
Easter eggs with chocolate thick.

Easter hats for one and all,
Easter Bunny makes a call!

Happy Easter always brings
Such a lot of pleasant things.

Easter Surprise
Easter eggs,
Yellow and blue,
Easter eggs,
For me and you.

Easter eggs,
Candy sweet,
Easter eggs,
Are yum to eat.

Easter eggs,
Pretty and funny,
But... where is the Easter
Bunny?
